As a Chinese, sure, we love Chinese food so much and we have some favorite Chinese food restaurants here. Few days ago, we went to one of our family’s favorite Chinese food restaurants located inside Kepri Mall, Grand Duck Restaurant. The place was quite large and can accommodate more than 100 persons. It was well kept and clean too. Since we went with our family, it meant we were going to order variant menu from this restaurant. And, good news for you guys, as we came to this restaurant many times so we knew a lot of food that really recommended for you to try out.
For this visit, we ordered Roast Duck, Mayonnaise Chicken, Deep Fried Enoki with Chili Salted, Stir-Fried 3 Fresh Mushroom with Vegetables, Chicken Corn Soup, Deep Fried Spring Roll, and Chinese Tea. It will be a long review guys! 😉
Roast Duck
This menu is one of their signature dishes. We ordered half portion since we were come with our family (total 8 persons). The duck was roasted till golden brown colored but it was not really tender and juicy. The sauce didn’t help too. It was just felt salty, nothing else. As a signature dish, we felt that overall taste was not enough to get rate of recommended menu from BD. You can try this menu and let us know what is your comment on this menu.
Mayonnaise Chicken
What can we say? One bite and you’re hooked. The chicken was simply amazing. It was crispy and tender. The spice is just right with combination of sour from mayonnaise and sweet from brown sauce that made the sauce become so tasty and balance.
Deep Fried Enoki with Chili Salted
As per our expectation from the name, the enoki mushroom was deep fried with chili and salty. Since it was seasoned very well, it was felt like a meat, not kind of mushroom. The portion is quite large and suitable for group dinner.
Stir-Fried 3 Fresh Mushroom with Vegetables
This menu was containing 3 type of vegetables such as broccoli, mushroom, and baby kailan. The vegetables was look so fresh, but the taste was just passable.
Chicken Corn Soup
They put a lot of chopped chicken inside the soup and it was seasoned before cooked with the corn and egg. The seasoned chicken itself was really tasty. This hot soup was incredible and went hand in hand with our steamed rice. We were munching them down side by side for an awesome dinner. This soup was the best chicken corn soup we ever try. Two thumbs waayyy up!
Deep Fried Spring Roll
Deep Fried Spring Roll is one of our favorite dim sum here. We always order this menu on our visit. This spring roll was containing spiced chopped chicken and wrapped by a rice paper. It was deep fried and crispy. A great dim sum for you to try out. Finger crossed!
Chinese Tea
We chose Chinese Tea jasmine flavor from 3 options offered to us. It came in teapot set, so this beverage can be shared up to 10 persons. The tea was fragrant and not bitter. It also can be refill for free. It’s a cheap beverage if you come with group.

Grand Duck Restaurant is offering a lot of variety foods such as dim sum, main menu, vegetable, dessert, and beverage. We have tried around 50% of their menu. Some is really tasty, some is passable, but so far we never experience bad taste on their menu. It’s a good point. This restaurant also have branch on Nagoya Hill, but Kepri Mall is our best choice since the taste is better than Nagoya Hill, the ambience is cozier, and it’s closer from our house.
We hope this information can give you an idea where to eat for lunch or dinner if you happen come to Kepri Mall Batam.
