Hello Guys..
21st December 2015 is a special day for us. It’s our daddy’s birthdaayyy… Yaayyy! We celebrated this great event by having a special dinner in Chinese restaurant. Yeepp,, it must be a Chinese restaurant, no question asked! Hihi… Initially, our mom wanted to have the dinner at Canton Duck Palace (formerly known as Grand Duck) Kepri Mall. It’s a good Chinese restaurant and we often celebrated our parties there. But, with our strong persuasive communication, we made our family to say “YES” to explore another new place, Dragon Garden. It’s located at Kepri Mall too. We heard this new restaurant from our friend and he recommended us to try this place. So, let’s check it out!

Looking at their sign board, Dragon Garden turned out to be a group of Grand Duck. We just liked “Hmm,,, okay!” We started to collect our memories about Grand Duck then. Just to let you know, initially Grand Duck opened at Kepri Mall. Since the business was good, they opened a branch at Nagoya Hill. After that, we saw in the newspaper that the owners split. Grand Duck at Kepri Mall changed to Canton Duck Palace and Grand Duck at Nagoya Hill still used the same name. And now, Grand Duck group opened another new restaurant named Dragon Garden. You guys should be cleared now. 🙂

Dragon Garden used a town house to operate their business. Since the place was small, they unable to put round table inside. Does it matter? Yes, it does for us. Chinese dining culture is to sharing the food on the table and chatting over the meals. So, it would be best if it came to round table so that people can reach the dishes and chat crossing the table easily, especially for large group dining. In the end, we just combined two rectangle tables for our BIG family, consist of 8 adults, 2 children, 2 babies, and 3 baby sitters. A lot huh? 😀
To accommodate our bellies, we ordered Roast Duck Dragon Garden (Half), Steamed Grouper in Soy Sauce, Boiled Chicken (Half), Deep Fried Prawn with Mayonnaise, Deep Fried Enoki Mushroom Chili Salted, Fried Bee Hoon with Seafood (2), Broccoli (3), Steamed Rice (15), Chinese Tea Pot, Avocado Juice (4), and Sweet Ice Tea (2). Yeaahh,,, from end to end, our table was full with our orders. Another long story to go…
Roast Duck Dragon Garden (Bebek Panggang Dragon Garden)

Roasted duck was the first menu in our parents’ mind. So, their expectation was on the high level. Looking at the half portion, it was enough for us to share each other. It was served with a special sauce. The color was beautiful and really mouth watering. But, the taste was decent and not crispy. The sauce itself didn’t help so much. Both Mr. BD and Ms. BD agreed that since the restaurant name didn’t put any word of “duck”, we let this item as okay. It will be different if the name is like Grand Duck, sure we will put more attention on duck menu. Fair enough huh? 😉
Steamed Grouper in Soy Sauce (Tim Kerapu)

This is too, too mouth watering! The grouper fish was really big, maybe more than 1 kg. No wonder the price was surprising at IDR310,400. It’s a market price guys. So, we paid based on fish weight. Is it worth it to pay IDR310K for this menu? Yes, it is. The fish was really fresh and tender. The soy sauce was light and tasty too. Yummy…
Deep Fried Prawn with Mayonnaise (Udang Goreng Mayones)

The presentation was good and appetizing. But, it only came up with few pcs of prawn. Hiks… The prawn itself was fresh and yummy. With sweet and sour mayonnaise, it was a perfect match.
Deep Fried Enoki Chili Salted (Jamur Enoki Asin Pedas)

Since the enoki was very thin, we can only taste the fried flour. It was salted and spicy.
Fried Bee Hoon with Seafood (Bihun Goreng Seafood)

To replace birthday noodle, we ordered birthday bee hoon. Hihi.. It’s a stir fried bee hon with shrimp, cuttlefish, fish ball, and mushroom topped with slice of egg and baby kailan. The combination was delectable.
Broccoli (Brokoli)

First impression, the portion was very small. Finally we ordered 3 portions to accommodate our bellies. In spite of the quantity, the broccoli was fresh and delicious.
Avocado Juice (Jus Alpukat)

This healthy drink will never go wrong unless the fruit itself was not fresh. As for Dragon Garden’s, we can ensure that they used fresh avocado fruit before blended it into a lovely juice.
Boiled Chicken (Ayam Kampung Rebus)
This was our last order. After half dinner, we ordered another broccoli and half portion of boiled chicken. Looks like everybody still hungry guys. Hehehe… No picture taken as Ms. BD and Mr. BD hands were busy with their own food too. Anyway, they boiled the chicken with ginger and sesame oil. The ginger was too much but the sesame oil just nice. The chicken itself was tender and juicy.
